Sharone Deloris Kelly Anthony-Jones was born on June 18, 1953 to the late Ella Bea Burton Kelly and Milo Kelly in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the third of six children. Sharone attended Caddo Parish public schools in Shreveport, graduating from Fair Park High School in 1971.
Embracing change she was among the first group of black students to attend previously all white, Midway Middle School under the Freedom of Choice Program. From there she attended newly integrated Fair Park High School where she was the first black female officer un their Army Junior ROTC program.
After high school she entered the workforce as a long distance operator for South Central Bell. She married young, to her high school sweetheart, Louis Anthony II. To that union two children were born. After several years her husband accepted a new job and relocated the family to Houston, Texas where she continued working for the phone company. She later went to work for Brown & Root Industrial Services. Upon her return to Shreveport she worked for Western Electric.
In her latter years, she relocated to Sunset, Louisiana where she remained for six years and in 2019 she returned to Shreveport.
Sharone accepted Christ at an early age and sang in the church choir. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Sharone was preceded in death by her mother Ella Bea Kelly and Father, Milo Kelly.
Sharone leaves to cherish her legacy and memory: a daughter, Tamisha Anthony of Shreveport, LA and a son Louis Anthony III of Lovelady, Texas; two brothers, Donald (Barbara) of Shreveport, LA and David Kelly of Bossier City, LA; three sisters, Sandra Goode and Terry Kelly of Shreveport, LA and Doris Harris of Sugarland, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
