The celebration of life honoring Mrs. Katie Lee Savannah McBride will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Luke CME Church, 2110 Martin Luther King Drive, with Pastor Gregory Hudson officiating.
Mrs. McBride will rest in the gardens of Roundgrove Memorial gardens. The evening of remembrance will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Saint Luke CME Church.
The Obsequies
Sis. Katie Lee Savannah McBride was born on July 24, 1956 in Hosston, Louisiana to the late Rosie Mae Savannah and Robert T. Green, Sr. She was the second child born of eight children. She attended and graduated from Green Oaks High School.
Katie confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with the Saint Luke CME Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Kidd. She served as a member of the pastor aide and usher board until her death.
Katie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Seaborne McBride in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and her son Christopher Savannah, 2 brothers Michael Savannah and Timothy Green, 1 sister Melinda Savannah, and grandparents Clara and Charlie Savannah.
Her memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted children ShunKay and Cedric Savannah both of Shreveport, 5 sisters Alice Savannah, Tommie Walker, and Carolyn Adger (Tommy) all of Shreveport, Johnnie Martin and Annette Cole (Frank) of Vivian, LA, 6 brothers Bobby Savannah (Elaine) of Matterson, IL Dennis Savannah (Denise), Anthony Walker (Sonya) all of Shreveport, LA, Tyrone Green (Pamela) and Henry Reddix of Monroe, VA and Rev. Robert T. Green, Jr. (Mary) of Vivian, LA.
She also leaves to cherish her memories 8 grandchildren Xavier Savannah, Jasmine, Sha’Qundalyn Savannah, Cedric Bernstien, Christopher Cooper, Aniyah Smith, Alonzo Savannah, and LaDarrious Savannah; step mother Helen Green of Vivian, LA; mother in law Evelyn Blakes of Shreveport, LA; and a houst of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Katie was a giver of kind words, a helping hand, and a mind that lend toward anyone in need. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. We bow in humble submission of our Heavenly Father’s will and pray that the comforting influence of the Holy Spirit will rest with you.
