The celebration of life honoring Mr. Eric Dewayne Harris, Jr. will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. inside the sanctuary of Greater Hope Baptist Church, 4355 Greenwood Road.
Mr. Harris will rest in the gardens of Carver Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Harris will lie in state on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on at Precious Memories Mortuary.
The Obesequies
Eric Harris Jr. (Ric) was born on February 21st, 2000 to the union of Eric and Angela Harris in Shreveport, LA. Eric walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, onOctober 28th, 2018 at the age of 18. Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Jackson of Shreveport, LA.
Eric is survived by his parents, Eric Sr. and Angela Harris, sister Ariel Jones, and two brothers Jakorey Jones, and Joshua Harris; Grandparents, Mary Francis Jones, Earl Jones, Henrietta Jackson; Aunt Karen Gerace (Louis), Latonya Maple; Uncles Earl D. Jones, Robert Jones, Patrick Jones, Todd Jones, Marcus Harris (Kim); Girlfriend Zoey Johnson & Son Zmarion Johnson (Tink) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Eric accepted Christ at an early age at Apostolic Deliverance Outreach Center and was filled with filled with the Holy Ghost in 2017. Eric was an avid lover of sports and during his young life had played football, basketball, baseball, for various teams: David Raines Cougars, Red Bulls, Green Oaks High School, and Evangel Christian Academy. Eric’s favorite professional team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Eric enjoyed writing lyrics and aspired to become a rapper in the future. Eric’s favorite rappers were NBA Young Boy & Lil Boosie. He loved playing the drums and was a dog lover. Eric enjoyed traveling and visited Washington, DC, Bumpass, Virginia, and lived in Baltimore, Maryland.
Eric was full of life and laughter and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, and friend.
