Mahala (Nanny) Barfield was born on November 26, 1929 in Shreveport, La. Born to Father Mr. March Barfield (Deceased), Mother Beatrice Roberson-Barfield (Deceased). Later, Beatrice met and married "Red" Bryant and 3 children were born. Mahala was baptized and became a Christina at an early age. She had Brothers, March Barfield (deceased), Clarence Barfield (Deceased), Joe Barfield (Deceased), Horace Barfield (deceased), Morris Barfield (Deceased). Sisters, Rosie Barfield of Shreveport, La. (Deceased), Clara B. Collins of Shreveport, La (Deceased), Gladys Bryant of Vacaville CA. She later married Otis Johnson. To that uinion she had 2 children Daughter, Elizabeth Morris of Sacramento Ca, Otha Lee Johnson of Reno, NV (deceased). Later, remarried Cleveland Jones (deceased). From this union she had 2 children Dennis Lee Jones of Las Vegas, NV, Danny Lee Jones of Dallas Texas.

Mahala went to school name Harmon High School. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a Faithful member at Mt. Enon Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA. She began working for the San Francisco school District as a Paraprofessional in 1970. She was Truly devoted to helping youth exceed in their studies. She retired in 1994 from the school District. She moved to Dallas Texas after retiring.

She leaves to mourn: Elizabeth Morris (daughter), Marvin Morris (son-in-law), Dennis Lee Jones (Son), Annette Jones (Daughter-in-law), Danny Lee Jones (Son), Deborah Ann Jones (Daughter-in-law). 17 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grand Children. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and many other Relatives and Friends
